The last page provides details of when each match kicks off in this weekend of Super Rugby but it promises to be a fascinating and possibly season-defining round of fixtures. And while we usually refrain from the prediction game, we figured we’d give it a shot this week.
Blues vs Crusaders. Both teams have one victory from two matches and Blues will enjoy home ground advantage. Still, we expect last season’s champion Crusaders to bounce back hard after the disappointment in Hamilton.
Rebels vs Waratahs. Neither team has chalked up a log point this year so it’ll probably be tight with Rebels’ home ground advantage countered by the attack of the Waratahs. We expect the visitors to win, but not by much.
Sunwolves vs Chiefs. Both teams unbeaten so far and while we reckon the kiwis will take it, the Japanese will not lay down and play dead.
Hurricanes vs Sharks. This one is easy. Hurricanes to win by a considerable margin.
Brumbies vs Highlanders. While the home team will be confident after last week’s victory over the Rebels, the visitors will still be smarting after going down to such a poor team last weekend. Highlanders will bounce back hard.
Lions vs Stormers. After the results so far this season home fans might be wary – until they look at the team sheets. There are three players on the bench who haven’t featured this year yet, any of whom can single handedly turn a game: Willem Alberts; Hacjivah Dayimani and Wandisile Simelane. This could be the match that sets up the Lions’ season.
Jaguares vs Reds. We can’t see the convicts causing an upset here and expect the home team to win by plenty. You can find all the team sheets here.
